Who we are

Circlists is operated by Harness Intent Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17277971). When these terms say "we", "us" or "our", they mean Harness Intent Ltd. You can reach us at support@circlists.com.

What Circlists is

Circlists lets you share articles, videos and podcasts with a small group — a circle — and see what the people in it are reading, watching and reacting to. A subscription costs £3 per circle per month and covers a circle of up to 10 members; everyone the champion invites joins free.

One member pays for a circle, and we call them its champion. Paying is what carries the role: the champion holds the powers that shape the circle — inviting people, removing them, renaming it, and managing the funding itself — and everyone else takes part without paying anything.

Your account

You need an account to use Circlists. Keep your sign-in details to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You must be at least 13 to create one. You're responsible for what happens under your account.

Payments

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

When you subscribe, you buy from Paddle, and Paddle's own checkout terms apply to the payment alongside these terms. Paddle handles billing, payment questions and refunds; we handle the product itself. Prices shown include VAT where it applies — Paddle, as merchant of record, takes care of that for your country.

Subscriptions renew monthly until the circle's champion cancels. Cancelling starts in the app, from the circle's settings, where we tell you what it costs before anything happens; completing it takes you to Paddle's own page, since Paddle holds the subscription. It stops the next renewal, and the circle keeps its paid features until the end of the period already paid for.

A champion who changes their mind can resume the funding at any point before that period ends — nothing is charged and no date moves. Once the period has ended, the circle goes to sleep, and funding it again is open to any member rather than the champion alone.

If the price changes, we'll email you in advance, and you can cancel before it applies.

When a circle's funding stops

When funding is cancelled, the circle goes to sleep at the end of the period already paid for. When a renewal payment fails instead, the circle carries on as normal while Paddle retries the card — up to 30 days — and goes to sleep only if none of those attempts succeeds. Either way, everyone in it then sees the same thing: the circle is asleep, and funding it is offered to any member. Whoever pays next becomes its champion, holding the same powers the last one held. The outgoing champion keeps their membership like anyone else, and nothing is refunded.

A sleeping circle does not last forever. We delete it 24 months after it goes to sleep, or 30 days after its last member leaves, whichever comes first — and deleting it takes the links, reactions and reading history in it. Funding the circle again lifts the first deadline; someone joining lifts the second.

Leaving a circle

You can leave a circle whenever you like. If you are its champion and it is still funded, you'll need to cancel that funding before you can leave, so that nobody is left paying for a circle they are not in. Leaving ends your membership and clears what you had read there; the links and reactions you added stay in the circle, under your name.

Support

For anything about the product — how it works, something broken, a question — email support@circlists.com and we'll reply within five working days. For anything about a payment — a charge, an invoice, a refund — Paddle is the right door: use the link in your receipt email or visit paddle.net. Cancelling a circle's funding starts in the app, in that circle's settings — Support is not the route for it.

Your content

The links, reactions and other content you add to a circle stay yours. You give us permission to store and show them to the members of that circle — that's all we need to run the service. They stay under your name while your account exists, including in circles you have left. Don't use Circlists to share anything unlawful, or to harass or harm anyone; we can suspend or close accounts that do.

Ending things

You can delete your account whenever you like, from your account settings. Deleting it cancels the funding of every circle you fund, at the end of the period already paid for — each of those circles then goes to sleep, and any of its members can fund it. Until that date the circle carries on as normal but has no champion: nobody can invite or remove members, rename it, change the payment card or cancel the funding, and nothing about the circle is charged again. Once it sleeps, whoever funds it next takes the role whole. It also takes your name off what you added: across every circle, the links you shared and the reactions you left — including the ones where you skipped reacting — read former member from then on.

We can suspend or end accounts that break these terms, and we'll tell you why unless the law prevents us.

Our liability

We provide Circlists with reasonable skill and care, but we can't promise it will always be available or fault-free. We're not liable for losses that weren't a foreseeable result of something we did wrong. Nothing in these terms limits liability we can't limit by law — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll say so on this page and update the date at the top. Carrying on using Circlists after a change means the new terms apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction — though if you live elsewhere in the UK or EU, you keep any protections and rights your local law gives you.
